He spoke on the importance of learning with understanding.

He also spoke on the disadvantages of rote learning and how it would affect the students when they went to higher classes.

N. Nagaraju, Regional Officer, CBSE, Chennai, lauded the effort of the association and told the principals that they should believe that education was not confined to just the curriculum and securing marks.

“Rather, it is more about learning concepts that help solve real life problems. And in the process, inculcating and exercising thinking skills plays a critical role,” he said.

V. Kovai Chelvan, senior vice-president, TVS Motors, gave away the prizes to the students.
