Top achievers awarded

Golden Gates Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Salem, presented cash rewards, gold coins and prizes to the tune of Rs. 3 lakh during the Awards, Appreciation, Rewards and Recognition Day.

Students who secured more than 460 marks in matriculation examinations and 1100 marks in the higher secondary examinations were presented with cash rewards.

Ramesh K. Govindarajan, who secured high marks in matriculation examinations, Shivani S. Shetty, who emerged as a overall topper in the district in the higher secondary examinations taking French as first language, were given special awards.

The school also conducted inter-school competitions recently.

Competitions including elocution, essay writing, singing, dance, drawing and quizzes. Over 600 students from 13 schools participated in the event. Cluny Matriculation HSS bagged the overall championship trophy. School Correspondent Meena Sethu and Principal V. Kanchana were present.

Gold House win

The Gold House bagged the overall championship trophy in the sports meet organised at Little Flower Higher Secondary School, Salem.Veerapandi MLA, A. Raja inaugurated the sports meet. In the super senior category M. Mohammed Azad won the individual championship. Sampath Kumar won the championship in the senior category and M. Kesavan in the junior category.

School Headmaster Fr. Arulappan presided.Meanwhile, the elected class leaders from Standard VI to Plus II were administered oath at a function in the school. Assistant Commissioner of Police S. Sivanantham gave away the batches to student leaders.

Seminar

Rasi International School, Rasipuram, conducted a seminar for the parents and students. School Chairman S. Sathiyamoorthi presided. Principal D. Vidhyasagar was the resource person.

The seminar focussed on handwriting, extracurricular activities and examination system.
