Thiruvananthapuram
Thiruvananthapuram: The Rishi Mahamandalam has condemned the manhandling of Swami Ramananda, head of the Gurushakthi Seva Sangham of Kuttoor near Thiruvalla allegedly by the workers of CPI(M) and DYFI at Adimali. In a statement here on Monday, the organisation pointed out that the action was tantamount to denying the freedom to move around and propagate Hindu philosophy of the sanyasins. It was the denial of rights allowed to citizens by the Constitution. Such incidents would mar the communal amity prevailing in the State. The organisation wanted those behind the attack to be arrested and the State Human Rights Commission to register a case against them. The executive of the organisation which would be meeting here on July 5 would draw up a strong agitation programme against the attack on sanyasins. Meanwhile, Shiv Sena leader M.S. Bhuvanachandran urged the Chief Minister to immediately intervene and bring to an end the attack on sanyasins.
