Renowned veterinary surgeon retires

CHANDIGARH: Dr. Jeet Singh, Professor of veterinary surgery at Haryana Agricultural University in Hisar, retired on Monday. He has been appointed Dean of the Veterinary College of Maharana Pratap Agricultural and Technology University, Udaipur.

An official spokesman said Dr. Singh was working as Additional Research Director in the University for over last four years. During his long service, he also served as Head of Veterinary Surgery-cum-Radiation Department; Director, Veterinary Education and Services Wing of the University and Director, Student Welfare.

Dr. Singh is well known in India and abroad for his achievements in the field of surgery, especially in ruminant surgery. Veterinary radiology along with veterinary surgery has been his field of research and he has written 230 research papers on these subjects. His best achievement has been the cure by surgery of diaphragmatic hernia in buffaloes.
