Better health for children

Rainbow Children’s Hospital was established in Hyderabad in 1999 by like minded professionals in the field of child health, who has gained vast experience in some of the best centers in the world. Over the last eight years, Rainbow has grown and emerged as a territory pediatric referral center in the state of AP and neighbouring states.

Rainbow at Vijayawada

There is increasing awareness about high end intensive care service & improvement in survival of newborn and sick children. Unfortunately Vijayawada and surrounding districts do not have access to such intensive care facilities.

Rainbow therefore established a 50 bedded pediatric territory referral centre in Vijayawada on 2nd September 2007. Rainbow team has always believed in teamwork. The intensivist / neonatologist will be posted in Vijayawada and directly supervising, monitoring and providing care.

Neonatal intensive care

The level III neonatal intensive care unit is 18 bed unit with capacity to ventilate 6 babies at a time. The unit will have state of the art infrastructure and facilities. It has latest girafee incubators and advanced monitoring system. All the newer modalities of ventilation and bubble CPAP will be available. It will also have facilities for high frequency oscillatory ventilation and inhaled nitric oxide therapy.

Pediatric ICU

The unit will have 4 level III PICU and 4 HDU beds with capacity to ventilate 4 babies at a time. The state of the art unit will have advanced monitoring system and ventilation facilities. It will have round the clock pediatric intensivist cover. The unit will also benefit from services of pediatric sub specialist in children with complex problem. It will have facilities to manage children with trauma and burn. It will have facilities for peritoneal dialysis.

They have established an advanced emergency transport service which will cover a distance of 200 km radius from Vijayawada. They have state of art ambulance which will be able to provide ICU service on road. The NETS will have globe trotter which will keep baby warm and at the same time ventilate baby. They also have pediatric transport ventilator.
