BHUBANESWAR: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday condemned the Maoist attack on the motor boat in the Chitrakonda reservoir on Sunday. Mr. Patnaik, who took stock of the situation at a meeting here, said the State Government would pay Rs. 2 lakh each to the kin of those killed in the attack. The State Government would also bear the medical expenses of the injured policemen, Mr. Patnaik said. The ex gratia will be paid from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to the families of those who might have been killed in the incident, Mr. Patnaik added. Of the 66 persons who were in the boat, 29 persons were rescued and one body was fished out from the reservoir on Monday afternoon. The remaining persons were missing.
