One killed in Army’s practice firing

Guwahati: One person was killed and another injured reportedly in an accidental firing during a practice session by the Army at Paharapur near Indo-Bhutan border in lower Assam’s Baksa district on Monday. The deceased has been identified as Binay Rajbongshi (42) and the injured Baikuntha Barman.
Additional Superintendent of Police Mugdhajyoti Mahanta told The Hindu that it was an accidental firing. He said that during practice session by Army troops at the firing range a shell hit the two persons, who were in red alert area.
