HYDERABAD: Post summer, the season sure belongs to school children who for a brief spell don the role of voters in a democratic set up. This June, schools across the city conducted polls and elected student representatives who then took oath at the respective investiture ceremonies. LFHSLittle Flower High School, Abids, conducted its investiture ceremony with great pomp on June 27 for its new cabinet. Student leaders elected through secret ballot took oath in the presence of chief guest and Additional Director of Vigilance T.Vivek. The chief guest enlightened the students about leadership qualities and hidden talents in children. Principal Jaico Gervasio and Mr. Vivek administered the oath of office to the new cabinet members. School Pupil Leader (Boys) B.K.Gautam and School Pupil Leader (Girls) Bhavani Sruthi rendered their maiden speeches. There were competitions among four houses in discipline, march past, and house boards decoration with the theme ‘I Care’. The Argonauts (Red House) secured first place. St. Ann’s High SchoolSaturday (June 28) was the day for the investiture ceremony of the newly elected cabinet members of St. Ann’s High School, Bollarum. School Principal Sr. Shanthi D’Mello administered oath to the newly elected members. V.S.K. Memorial HSV. S. K. Memorial High School conducted polls on June 25 for electing the Head Boy and the Head Girl. M. Surya Kiran and N. Sindhuja won the contest from among six boys and five girls from Class X. Investiture ceremony is on cards for the school. Maharishi Vidya MandirMaharishi Vidya Mandir conducted its investiture ceremony on June 28 with Major K. A. Shiva Prasad, the president of A.P.Chess Association as the chief guest. Principal Vasanthy Parasuraman presided over the ceremony. Delhi Public SchoolKaveri House of the Delhi Public School organised their Inter-House Dance Competition on June 28. Students danced to the Indian as well as western tunes in traditional Rajasthani, Bengali, and Hip Hop styles. Principal Rekha Aggarwala appreciated the students for their choreography while Sunila, Head of the Dance Department at the school acted as the judge and advised the students on rhythm, expression and coordination. Ganga House bagged the first prize in the Indian Dance category while Narmada House walked away with the same in Western dance.
