Woman relieved of gold chain

Bangalore: Two persons, who came on a motorcycle, snatched a gold chain worth Rs. 60,000 from a 60-year-old woman at 2nd Cross, 2nd Main, Kaggadasapura, that falls under Mahadevapura police station limits on Sunday.

The police said that the incident had occurred when Sarala was returning from a grocery shop around 8.30 p.m.

A case has been registered.

Run over by train

An electrician died after he was run over by a train near Byappanahalli on Monday. The police identified the victim as Sikandar Ramji, a native of Bihar, who was residing in Geddalahalli, Sanjayanagar. He was trying to cross the railway track when the accident occurred, they said. A case has been registered.

Nabbed

The Central Crime Branch police on Sunday nabbed Rishi Kumar, a convict who escaped from the custody of the Kodagu police. The police said that Rishi Kumar is an accused in two murder cases, one attempt to murder case, two cases of criminal intimidation and two theft cases. He is said to have escaped from the custody of Kodagu police from Somwarpet bus station while he was being brought to the Bangalore Central Jail in Parappana Agrahara. The police tracked him and apprehended him at Kengeri on Sunday.

Knocked down by bus

A 35-year-old man was killed after he was knocked down by a Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation bus near UCO Bank on K.G. Road on Monday night.

The police said that the bus had hit an autorickshaw and then knocked down the man who was crossing the road. He died on the spot. The autorickshaw driver has been admitted to Bowring Hospital.

The Upparpet traffic police have registered a case.
