Man wanted in murder case held
NEW DELHI: A man allegedly involved in cases of murder and extortion in Bihar has been arrested by the Special Cell of the Delhi police. He carried a reward of Rs.25,000 on his head.
Virender Jha was wanted by the Bihar police in connection with the murder of Akhilesh Rai. Acting on a tip-off that he would be coming to Delhi to manipulate some government tender deals, the police arrested him near the Ajmeri Gate side of New Delhi railway station on Sunday.
During interrogation, Virender allegedly disclosed that he was initiated into crime in 1990 after his elder brother Dhirendra was killed by a member of the Suresh Sahni gang. Virender and other gang members had allegedly shot dead Akhilesh Rai and Ramudesh Rai.
