PUDUCHERRY: Motorists queuing up at petrol bunks continued for the second day here on Tuesday. From early in the morning, most of the bunks witnessed long queues, leading to traffic snarls at some places in the town and its outskirts. Some of the bunks stopped the supply of diesel owing to non-availability of fuel. Secretary of the United Regional Puducherry Petrol Dealers’ Association L. Periasamy told The Hindu that there was no need for people to panic as they had managed to tide over the shortage. There were around 70 fuel stations in Puducherry region and each of the outlet required a minimum of 12,000 litres every day . During the last two days, most of the bunks received only 50 per cent of their requirement, Mr. Periasamy said, adding that they have started getting enough supply from Tuesday.
