Southern Railway revises train timings

Coimbatore: Southern Railway has revised the departure timings of four trains from Coimbatore and arrivals of four trains to Coimbatore besides renumbering a few trains and introducing three new trains according to the new railway time table that has come into effect on July 1.

A release from the Southern Railway–Salem Division said that the departure of the following trains stands revised: (Train number 2674) Cheran Express from Coimbatore to Chennai will leave at 10.20 p.m. instead of 10.15 p.m., (6865) -Tiruchirapalli to Ernakulam would leave Tiruchirapalli at 10.20 p.m. instead of 7.50 p.m.; (608) Erode–Coimbatore passenger would leave at 6.25 p.m. instead of 6.15 p.m.; (633) Coimbatore–Thrissur passenger would leave at 4.40 p.m., instead of 4.35 p.m.; (631)Coimbatore–Palakkad Town Passenger would leave Coimbatore at 6.10 p.m, instead of 6.00 p.m.; (884) Karur–Tiruchirapalli Passenger would leave Karur at 3.30 p.m., instead of 3.15 p.m.; (682) Salem–Vridhachalam Passenger would leave Salem at 9.05 a.m. instead of 9.00 a.m.

Similarly, the arrival timings of the following trains are also revised as follows: (Train number 2681) Chennai – Coimbatore Weekly Express would arrive at 7.00 a.m., instead of 07.15 a.m; (2670) Jaipur-Coimbatore would arrive at 7.20 p.m, instead of 7. 15 p.m.; (2083) Janshatabdi Express from Mayiladuthurai to Coimbatore would arrive at 9.20 p.m., of 9.00 p.m; (610) Kannur – Coimbatore would arrive at 1.25 p.m. instead of 1.15 p.m.; (882) Erode – Tiruchi Passenger would reach Tiruchi at 8.15 p.m. instead of 8.20 p.m; (608) Coimbatore – Erode Passenger would arrive Coimbatore at 8.50 p.m. instead of 8.45 p.m.

Train Number 6607/6608 Chennai Egmore - Mangalore Express is renumbered as 6107/6108; 657/658 Erode – Mettur Dam passenger as 851/852; 659/660 Salem – Mettur Dam passenger as 853/854 and 681/682 Salem - Vridhachalam Passenger as 837/838.

Extended

Train number 2677/2678 Bangalore City – Coimbatore daily Express is extended up to Ernakulam. The train was already running up to and from Ernakulam on a temporary basis. Train number 2084/2083 Coimbatore – Kumbakonam Jan Shatabadi Express is extended up to Mayiladuthurai and train number 571/572 Bangalore – Salem Passenger would be extended to Nagore and the exact date of extension of service would be notified later.

New trains

Southern Railway is introducing a new train with number 2297/2298 on the Chennai Egmore – Salem daily express. Train number 2297 will depart Chennai Egmore at 10.55 p.m. and reach Salem Junction at 06.15 a.m. and in the return direction 2298 would leave Salem Junction at 9.00 p.m. and would reach Chennai Egmore at 04.25 a.m. The train would have one first AC-cum-AC two tier coach, one AC two tier coach, two AC three tier coaches, eight sleeper class coaches, one pantry car, two general-cum-second class coaches and two luggage-cum-brake vans. It would have stoppages at Tambaram, Chengalpattu, Melmaruvathur, Villuppuram, Vridhachalam, Aatur, Chennai Egmore, Vridhachalam, Attur, Salem Tow

Train number 2255/2256 Yeshwantpur - Puducherry Garib Rath Tri-weekly Express; Train number 2255 will leave Yeswantpur at 11.15 p.m. and arrive Puducherry at 9.20 a.m. in the return direction it would leave Puducherry at 10.00 p.m. and arrive Yeswantpur at 8.25 a.m. Trains ex-Yesvantpur would be on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays while trains from Puducherry would be on Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. It would stop at Banaswadi, Hosur, Dharmapuri, Salem, Attur, Vridhachalam and Villuppuram. The trains would have ten Garib Rath AC three tier coaches, four Garib Rath AC chair cars and two generator vans.

Train Number 2257/2258 Yeswantpur – Kochuveli Garib Rathi tri-weekly Express: Train number 2257 will depart Yeswantpur at 9.00 p.m. reach Kochuveli at 12.40 p.m. In the return direction train number 2258 would depart Kochuveli at 8.00 p.m. and reach Yeswantpur at 11.30 a.m; Salem Junction at 1.10 a.m., Erode at 2.15 a.m., Coimbatore at 03.55 a.m., and Kochuveli at 12.40 p.m. Trains from Yeswantpur would be on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays while from Kochuveli it would be on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
