BHEL bags Syrian turnkey contract

NEW DELHI: Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited has got a big break in the international business, winning a Rs. 2,080-crore turnkey contract for setting up a 400 MW thermal power project in Syria. The order has been placed by Public Establishment of Electricity for Generation and Transmission (PEEGT), Ministry of Electricity, Syria, according to an official spokesman of BHEL here. — Special Correspondent
