New Delhi: Jeev Milkha Singh slipped three places to 78 but still managed to retain his status as the highest ranked Indian golfer while Jyoti Randhawa, the only other Indian in the top 100, slid as many rungs to be 81st. Jeev, who finished tied 21st in the Open de France and could not qualify for the British Open, was ranked 75th in last week’s chart. Randhawa, who finished a lowly tied 65th in France, also could not hold on to his previous ranking of 78 and slipped to 81. The next Indian on the chart is Orlando-based Arjun Atwal (191) who is plying his trade on the Nationwide Tour these days hoping to secure his PGA Tour card for the next season. Indian Masters winner S.S.P. Chowrasia is ranked 202, while Delhi lad Shiv Kapur, who shared the 21st place with Jeev in France, is at 280. — PTI
