Live telecast of car festival

BHUBANESWAR: Courtesy Bhubaneswar Doordarshan, viewers in 144 countries across the globe would be able to watch live telecast of the famous car festival, return car festival and the sunabesa of Puri.

Bhubaneswar Doordarshan director Bimal Gupta told the media that the live telecast of the rath yatra with Oriya commentary would commence at 8.30 am on DD-1 and DD-6, the round-the-clock exclusive Oriya channel while it would go on air along with English and Hindi commentaries DD-National, DD-Bharati and DD-India at 9 am till 2.30 pm.

Similarly, Bahuda jatra, the return car festival, would be telecast live on DD-1 and DD-6 on July 12 followed by a similar arrangement on July 13 for the enchanting sunabesa when the deities would adorn the precious gold ornaments.

All the DDKs of the country would telecast the proceedings live on the three occasions; Mr.Gupta informed and added that eight cameras would cover the entire proceedings.
