Farmers stage ‘rasta roko’

MAHABUBNAGAR: Farmers of Thimmajipet mandal staged a rasta roko for three hours demanding supply of fertilizers on Jedcharla – Bijnapally main road on Tuesday leading to a traffic jam.
Hundreds of farmers who went to single window office with pass books earlier found that fertilizer were not available. Irked by this they began a rasta roko.
Local leaders of TDP, BJP and TRS joined them in support of their demand of immediate supply of fertilizers. Finally Tahasildar Krishna Swamy, Assistant Agriculture officer Padma reached the spot and on their assurance that fertilizers would be supplied to them with in two or three days they withdrew their agitation.
