Two surveyors held on bribery charge

CHAMARAJANAGAR: Two surveyors were caught by the Lokayukta police while they were allegedly accepting bribe here on Monday.
Mahadev Prasad and Shashikanth had allegedly taken a bribe of Rs. 4,000 from Asadulla Shariff, a resident of Chamarajanagar town, to fix the boundary of 8 acres of land.
Mr. Shariff had submitted an application at the Taluk Tahasildar office to fix the boundary for the land, and the surveyors had demanded Rs. 5,000 from him.

Mr. Shariff had paid Rs. 500 as advance to the surveyors and promised to pay the remaining amount on June 30. Mr. Shariff then approached the Lokayukta police.
Mahadev Prasad tried to escape after throwing the money, but he was caught.
