Delhi bandh call by BJP

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: The Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party has called for a bandh in the Capital this Thursday to register its protest against cancellation of land allotted to the Amarnath Yatra Shrine Board in Jammu and Kashmir.

According to a Delhi BJP spokesperson, all the 16 districts and 280 mandals of the State BJP have been instructed to ensure that the bandh is successful. He said the State BJP also supported the bandh call by Vishwa Hindu Parishad. The spokesperson said the land was allotted to the Amarnath Yatra Shrine Board in order to provide basic facilities to the devotees. “But by getting the allotments cancelled, the extremist and communal forces active in Jammu and Kashmir are playing with the sentiments of the Hindu community,” he charged.
