Bhopal: A 17-year-old white tigress died here following prolonged illness, Van Vihar National Park official said here on Tuesday. The tigress, Kiku, was suffering from paralysis below the waist, died on Monday due to pulmonary infection as the immediate cause of death, the officials said. Kiku was brought here from Delhi Zoo in 2005 in injured condition and her condition since then slowly deteriorated. Since Saturday she became critical and was administered intravenous fluids. Her caretaker on Monday found her lifeless body in the enclosure. Later a team of veterinary doctors conducted her post-mortem and she was cremated in the Van Vihar Premises.
