Visakhapatnam
VISAKHAPATNAM: Parliamentary Standing Committee on Coal and Steel will be visiting Visakhapatnam from Wednesday to Friday. The committee under the Chairmanship of Dr. Satyanarayan Jatiya and 15 other MPs, four members from committee’s secretariat and three officials from Ministry of Steel will be visiting the city. Prior to visiting Visakhapatnam, they held meetings with the representatives of Neyvili Lignite Corporation, SAIL, Western Coal Fields Limited and Manganese Ore (India) Ltd., on various aspects of production, demand, logistics and future plans, according to VSP Deputy General Manager V. Phaneendrudu. On Wednesday, the Parliamentary Standing Committee would hold informal discussions with the officials of NMDC on the subject “Availability of Raw Material for Steel Sector”. On Thursday, it would discuss with CMD and other senior officials of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant. A corporate presentation on the modernisation and expansion works of RINL would be made by the VSP. The committee would also visit the plant and the expansion site of VSP, he said.
