Regularisation applicants can go for CDS too

GHMC has garnered close to Rs. 327 crore under CDS in penal fees in last six months

Last date for applying for regularisation is August 31

Latest extension for CDS is July 15

HYDERABAD: Applicants for land regularisation scheme – buildings constructed on declared surplus land under Urban Land Ceiling Act and on Government lands, can also apply for the Compulsory Disclosure Scheme (CDS) for unauthorised buildings.

The latest and purportedly last extension for CDS till July 15 should come as good news for owners having constructions in such lands. Till recently, civic bodies including GHMC were rejecting applications from such building owners as the land was under dispute.

“We will accept applications under CDS from such owners provided they submit requisite receipt showing proof of having applied for regularisation as per Government directions,” said GHMC Additional Commissioner (Planning & Projects) K. Dhananjaya Reddy.

The last date for applying for land regularisation scheme is valid up to August 31. GHMC itself is expecting a sizeable number of applications from owners of buildings constructed on Government lands and it has so far garnered close to Rs. 327 crore under CDS in penal fees during the last six months, thanks to continuous extensions.

Fee collection

Now officials insist CDS would positively close after two weeks. GHMC has till date received 1.16 lakh applications for regularising buildings and 29.6 lakh for getting illegal layouts cleared. For buildings, the penal fee collection has been Rs. 240 crore and Rs. 87 crore for layouts.

Kukatpally tops the list for buildings with 17,795 applications, followed by areas of Begumpet, Khairatabad, Banjara Hills, etc., with 16,438 and L.B. Nagar/Gaddiannaram with 12,148. For layouts, Serilingampally got 6,554 applications, L.B.Nagar/ Gaddiannaram 5,149 and Kukatpally 3,613.

Since, there is no legal bar on scrutinising layout applications, as many as 2,000 applications were verified and given regularisation proceedings certificate. The Corporation is quite confident of clearing all layout applications in the next few months with each case being personally vetted by senior most planning officials before the Commissioner affixes his signature. Applications for layouts regularisation can go on for another three months unlike for buildings.
