‘LS polls unlikely before Feb.-March’
HYDERABAD: Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy on Tuesday is reported to have indicated to officials that elections to the Lok Sabha were unlikely to be held before February-March 2009. He was responding to suggestions by senior bureaucrats that targets for welfare programmes like Indirama housing should be achieved well ahead of November so that they do not interfere with the poll code of conduct. They recalled that the Election Commission of India had raised innumerable objections to implementation of even ongoing schemes during the recent by-elections in Telangana.
