HRF wants all accused arrested

VISAKHAPATNAM: The Human Rights Forum has demanded the arrest of all the accused and withdrawal of false cases against the SCs in the recent attack on SCs by upper castes at Pottilanka village in East Godavari district.

A fact-finding committee of HRF which visited the spot said that on June 20, an SC youth Ambadi Rajaratnam was beaten up by Kapus for allegedly misbehaving with a Kapu girl near a hotel on the highway. On the next morning, when the youth went to the same hotel for breakfast, he was again beaten black and blue and threw him in the panchayat office. Suspecting the dalits to retaliate, the upper castes raided the area where the dalits lived with lethal weapons, the report said.
