VISAKHAPATNAM: Body of a constable Subba Rao, who was on board the motor launch carrying Greyhounds constables that capsized in the Chitrakonda reservoir on Sunday, was found on the shore near Sarakubanda village. Six weapons were recovered as the search for other survivors entered third day on Tuesday.

So far, two bodies were found, while 33 more are feared trapped inside the cabin of the capsized boat which was reportedly lying in the water at a depth of about 80 metres. Nine Greyhound constables are undergoing treatment at a corporate hospital here.

It is reported that the CRPF men who were jointly searching the area with the AP police, found Subba Rao’s body. It is inferred that he may have died of exhaustion due to swimming endlessly. The police shifted him to Jambai village and summonned two doctors from King George Hospital by a helicopter. But Subba Rao had reportedly died two hours before the CRPF men could spot him.

One light machine gun, three Insar rifles, one AK 47 rifle and one SLR were recovered by the Naval divers near the spot where the launch had sunk.

Meanwhile, post mortem was conducted on the body of 22-year-old Greyhound constable B. Udaya Nagu. When his body was recovered from the reservoir, his hands were tied behind him. Post mortem revealed that his viscera was completely damaged. Later, the police arranged transport of the body to his native village Marripeda near Warangal.
