Workplace abuse on the rise

DHAKA: More than 90 per cent of Bangladesh’s working women have experienced various kinds of gender violence, said a study, “Gender-based violence at the workplace: causes and consequences.”

The study was conducted by the Social Science Research Council of the Planning Ministry.

It revealed a large number of adolescent girls and women were being sexually abused in their workplace, but many of these cases went under-reported.
