Bonding across the seas to establish cultural ties

BENEFITS BOTH: Twinning agreement being signed.

MADURAI: A team of 10 delegates from Junior Chamber International, Madurai Chapter, visited an overseas chapter, JCI, Gampaha, in Sri Lanka recently to establish goodwill contacts and cultural ties between them.

The team, led by its president, S. Inbavanan, signed a memorandum of understanding, a twinning agreement between the two chapters, in the presence of the national president of JCI, Sri Lanka, Niroshan Silva. The deputy national president of Sri Lanka, Bimal, and G. Balachandran, an international training fellow, were present on the occasion.

The agreement would also facilitate conduct of training programmes, business meetings and community service.

The team, besides business meetings, visited a special school for the hearing impaired.
