Young man shot dead, another injured
NEW DELHI: A young man was shot dead and another injured when they tried to nab two young men fleeing on a motorcycle after snatching the chain of a 54-year-old woman at Nandnagri here on Tuesday.
Around 7-45 a.m., Rajni Devi was on her way to drop her granddaughter to school when one of the two men on a motorcycle snatched her chain. She raised an alarm hearing which Nehrool (36), who was standing nearby, threw a stone at the snatchers. They escaped unhurt and one of them opened fire at Nehrool injuring him in the leg.
Another local resident, Nanhe (24), tried to intercept the motorcycle at which the pillion rider fired at him. Nanhe sustained a bullet injury in the head and died while being taken to hospital. Nehrool has been admitted to Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital.
