Businessman murdered

A tourist-car operator, P. Ilayaraja (32), was murdered and his body dumped in a drainage channel in Sammattipuram here opast midnight of Monday.

The police said that an armed gang intercepted his car and attacked him with lethal weapons at around 12.30 a.m.

In a complaint lodged with the S.S. Colony police, P. Senthil, brother of the deceased, said that eight persons had been following his brother in a car.

The police are investigating into the possibility of business or personal motive behind the murder.
