This Day That Age
Pandit Pant, Union Home Minister, addressing a mammoth public meeting in Ferozepore on July 1, said that the Pakistan authorities did well in preventing Chaudhuri Ghulam Abbas and his followers from marching across the cease-fire line into Kashmir. Pandit Pant said that if ever any country were to try to grab India’s territory by force, that attempt would be stopped with “all our might”. Kashmir, he said, was an integral part of India. India had all goodwill for Pakistan and her people but politicians there tried to rake up baseless controversies to mislead the masses. He hoped that Pakistani leaders would now face facts, and think of setting their house in order. Pakistan, he continued, had not yet had general elections and had not had a stable Ministry either at the Centre or in the provinces.
