BGR Energy secures 600 MW EPC contract

CHENNAI: BGR Energy Systems has successfully made a foray into the EPC contract segment for large projects of 500 MW and above by securing the first 600 MW engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) project from the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB).
Addressing presspersons here on Tuesday, B. G. Raghupathy, Chairman and Managing Director, said the company secured this single largest EPC contract for the 1 x 600 MW from TNEB. The project was an expansion of the existing 4 x 210 MW thermal power project of TNEB at Mettur. The total contract value of the project was Rs. 3,100 crore. He said the 600 MW sub-critical power plant was to be completed in a period of 39 months.
