World Cup on ESPN-STAR

NEW DELHI: The ESPN STAR Sports has secured exclusive rights to telecast the 2010 FIFA World Cup in the Indian sub-continent. The sports broadcaster, on Wednesday, signed a new contract with football’s world governing body FIFA.

The telecast of the 2010 World Cup, to be held in South Africa from June 11 to July 11, will be shown in India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan and Maldives.

As per the contract, ESPN-STAR will broadcast 275 games including FIFA Confederations Cup and other premier men, women, youth, Futsal and beach soccer matches. — Sports Reporter
