Telugu Samakhya to print textbooks

Staff Reporter

BERHAMPUR: ‘Orissa Telugu Samakhya’ would now print and distribute textbooks for Telugu medium school students in the State.

Earlier the State Education Department was using a private firm of Berhampur to print the Telugu textbooks for Telugu medium students of the State. But during recent years the firm has failed to satisfy the needs of the Telugu medium students in Orissa. The Samakhya has decided to solve the problem by taking up contract with the State Education Department to print the Telugu medium textbooks, said its newly elected secretary R. Suryanarayana. The organisation would print textbooks from classes VIII to X and would also make arrangements for their timely distribution . It may be noted that the Telugu MIL textbooks are supplied by the Andhra Pradesh Government for the Telugu medium students in Orissa. At the general body meeting it was also decided to hold workshops to promote Telugu writing among the Telugu-speaking youths in Orissa.
