CHANDIGARH: The Gurgaon police have registered three FIRs against miscreants who damaged two JCB machines and blocked the road late on Tuesday night to protest against Reliance’s taking over possession of land at Harsaru village to construct a special economic zone (SEZ). Gurgaon DCP (West) Rakesh Arya said in a statement that about 33 persons had been named in the FIRs while 35 others were unidentified. He disclosed that even on Wednesday some miscreants tried to damage the vehicle of ACP Pataudi. About 15-20 miscreants came on motorcycles and surrounded the vehicle. They ran away when the police force reached the spot, leaving behind four motorcycles, Mr. Arya added. Cases were being registered against these miscreants also. A flag march was also taken out on Wednesday as a precautionary measure and raids were on to arrest those against whom cases have been registered. Meanwhile, reports reaching the State headquarters here said that farmers under the aegis of Haryana Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Samiti demanding enhancement in compensation set afire two JCB machines on Tuesday at Garauli Khurd village. The machines had been pressed into service by Reliance to erect a boundary wall.
