Gang of abductors nabbed, two cars seized

HYDERABAD: Five members of a gang, who used to rob daily financiers after abducting and torturing them, were arrested by city police on Wednesday. Two cars, a three-wheeler and seven daggers were seized from them, Commissioner’s Task Force Additional DCP A.S.C. Wesley told a press conference. The prime accused, Javed, and two of his associates are still at large. Several persons in the old city are into the business of financing. They extend loans to petty vendors and hawkers and collect money/interest on daily basis.

Arrested persons Shaik Maqbool, Mohd. Ghouse, Syed Habeeb, Shaik Khaleel and Shaik Nayeem, along with gang leader , allegedly kidnapped, tortured and collected Rs. 65,000 from three daily financiers in past one week. Manohari Lal of Laldarwaza, who was one of the victims, told reporters that the gang beat up him severely after taking him to Vattepally hillocks.
