Strike notice served on NLC management

CUDDALORE: The Pattali Thozhir Sangam, one of the two recognised trade unions of the Neyveli Lignite Corporation, on Wednesday served a strike notice on the management, demanding immediate settlement of the pending issues. President of the PTS (affiliated to the Pattali Makkal Katchi) S.Selvaraj said his union was urging the management to settle the bonus and incentive issues, pending from January 1,2007, and the conveyance allowance issue defying solution from April 1,2004 through talks. However, the Labour Progressive Front was seeking advance payment to be deducted later from the salary. The PTS was not agreeable to such a suggestion and hence, after consulting CITU, AITUC, HMS, MLF and LLF, it had given the notice. If the management did not respond before July 17 the PTS would decide the course of action, he said.
