Judicial remand of Talwar extended

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: A special Ghaziabad court on Wednesday extended the judicial remand of Dr. Rajesh Talwar, arrested in connection with the Aarushi-Hemraj murder case, till July 11.

Dr. Talwar, whose bail application was rejected by a Sessions court recently as there were reasonable grounds to suspect his involvement in the case, was produced in the court after completion of his remand period. The court again sent him to judicial custody, following which he was taken back to Dasna jail.

In another development, the CBI summoned Dr. Talwar’s wife Nupur for clarification of some discrepancies in her statement.

A photographer who was hired by the Noida police to take snaps of the crime scene after Aarushi’s body was discovered on May 16 morning was also summoned for questioning.

The investigating agency is trying to reconstruct the crime scene and the sequence of events leading up to the murders.

It had on Tuesday questioned retired police officer K. K. Gautam.
