Speaking to reporters, the Minister said that he was concerned about the safety of children studying in such school buildings and that such accidents should not recur anywhere in the state. He said that he had directed the Deputy Directors of Public Instruction and Block Education Officers to constitute teams of officers for assessing the condition of the buildings.

Based on the reports of the teams, which was expected in a month, action would be initiated to shift the schools to safe places, he added.

About the Karnataka High Court judgment on the English medium schools, the Minister said that the Government was yet to get a copy of the same. He said that the Bharatiya Janata Party Government was committed to the State’s language policy.
