Two held for betting on cricket match

CHANDIGARH: The Haryana police claim to have caught red-handed Navin Kumar, a resident of Faridabad, and Kalam, a resident of Delhi, on Wednesday in Faridabad while they were allegedly betting on the ongoing Asia Cup Cricket Tournament and claim to have recovered Rs.1.50 lakh, 52 mobile phone sets, 58 earphones, one TV and material related to betting from them.

417 criminals arrested

An official spokesman said here on Thursday that the police had so far arrested 417 notorious criminals under a special ongoing campaign to nab the anti-social elements in the State.

Five alleged criminals involved in various cases have been arrested in Faridabad and Gurgaon districts.

Pirated CDs

The police also arrested Badshah and Jagat Kumar for allegedly manufacturing and selling pirated CDs and recovered 1,160 fake CDs.
