State-ranking tournament from today

CHENNAI: Shri Vaishnavi Productions and G.V. Films Pvt. Ltd. will sponsor the fifth State-ranking table tennis tournament to be held at the SDAT-Chandra Academy, D.G. Vaishnav College, from July 4 to 6.

Speaking to newspersons here on Wednesday, V. Chandrasekar, Director, SDAT-Chandra Academy, said the tournament has received a record number of 620 entries.

“We are also planning to hold an inter-district championship in the near future,” said Chandrasekar, a three-time National champion.

Sivananda Seshadri and A.V. Nivedita have been given the top billing in the men’s and women’s sections respectively.
