THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State Bank of India, Kerala Circle is implementing in right earnest the Debt Waiver and Debt Relief Scheme as announced by the Finance Minister in his budget speech for 2008-09. The Bank has extended debt waiver of Rs.180 crore to 57,000 farmers in Kerala and debt relief to more than 3,000 farmers covering an amount of Rs.15.00 crore. Chief General Manager Radha Unni and General Manager Niranjan Parsha distributed letters of debt waiver, letters for fresh loan and Prime Minister’s letter addressed to these farmers at Kottukal and Sreekariam Branches of State Bank of India. On this occasion Ms. Unni mentioned that the SBI has appointed across the State Grievance Redressal Officers who can be approached by any farmer for redressal of complaints, if any.
