It’s raining blockbusters this monsoon

NEW DELHI: Cinema lovers now have a valid reason to stay glued to their television sets as HBO channel brings a host of Hollywood blockbusters this monsoon season.

Romantic film “The Holiday” starring Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet sets the ball rolling this Saturday. “Casper”, starring Bill Pullman and Christina Ricci, will be beamed on Sunday.

Described as the biggest Hollywood hit last year, “Spider-Man 3” will be aired on July 11. This blockbuster stars Tobey Maguire and Thomas Haden Church. It will be followed by a suspense thriller, “The Departed”, on July 12 starring Leonardo Dicaprio and Matt Damon.

A mix of action and adventure comes your way with “The Mummy” on July 13 starring Brendan Fraser, Rachel Weisz and John Hannah.

The excitement mounts with the Hugh Jackman-Kate Winslet starrer “Flushed Away” on July 19. For comic lovers, “Superman Returns” starring Brandon Routh and Kate Bosworth will be shown on July 25. Drama movie “Freedom Writers” with a star-studded cast will be aired on July 26.

Besides these movies, the channel has also launched the much talked about “Entourage” that will be aired on Monday and Tuesday. The rib-tickling comedy series takes a look at the day-to-day life of Vincent (Vince) Chase, a hot young actor in Hollywood and his entourage.

The series draws on the experiences of industry insides to illustrate both the heady excesses of today’s celebrity lifestyle as well as the difficulty of finding love and success in the fast-track world of showbiz.
