Udupi: A man jumped into the well and drowned when the police started interrogating him with regard to a case at Haikady village coming under the Shankarnarayana Police Station limits in Udupi district on Thursday. The Shankarnarayana police said on Friday that a police team under sub-inspector Devaraj from Sorab police station in Shimoga district had come to Haikady to interrogate Subraya Achari (30), with regard to a kidnap case. Even as the police were inquiring with Subraya Achari, he pushed aside three constables, bit the hand of a constable and jumped into a nearby well.
