BANGALORE: Karnataka Prantha Raitha Sangha (KPRS) has urged the State Government to set up a State-level farmers’ commission to study the various issues of farmers. Sangha State unit president Maruti Manpade told presspersons here on Thursday that 58 farmers committed suicide unable to bear the burden of loans after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) assumed power in the State. He said urged the Government to form village-level information centres to provide information on rain, crop and market-related issues to farmers. “The Government should make 10 per cent of allocation to agriculture sector in the State Budget,” — Staff Reporter
