BANGALORE: This year’s Super division league hockey tournament will be played at Madikere, Kodagu district, from Sept 15 to October 12. This decision was taken at the Karnataka State Hockey Association executive council meeting held at the KSHA on July 2. The Super Division will be played in a two-tier format. The fixtures will be announced after the list of participating teams is finalised. Top teams such as BPCL, IOCL, Fortis, Army XI and Namdhari XI will be participating. The decision to conduct the Super division at Madikere is because the stadium there now has a new synthetic turf and improved facilities are in place. There is also a move to collect gate fee from the public. — Special Correspondent
