Bhubaneswar: Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath was celebrated at Shri Banikhetra of KIIT on Friday amid religious fervour and gaiety. More than 30,000 devotees participated in pulling the three decorated chariots of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra. The chariot of Devi Subhadra was pulled by women only. CM’s gestureOrissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced Rs. one lakh assistance for the treatment of the boy, Shankar Singh, who lost his limbs after a fall from a train in Rourkela. Voicing concern over the incident in which Shankar Singh lost his right leg and right arm, Patnaik announced the assistance from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, a press release from the CM’s office said.
