PUDUCHERRY: The Privileges Committee of the Puducherry Legislative Assembly on Friday decided to send notice to Chief Secretary Rakesh Behari, seeking his response to the allegation that he had made certain derogatory remarks against the Council of Ministers during a review meeting.
Shortly after chairing a meeting of the Privileges Committee, Deputy Speaker A.V. Sreedharan told reporters that the Chief Secretary had been asked to give his response on or before July 11.
The committee would decide on the future course of action after getting his response.
The issue was referred to the committee by Speaker R. Radhakrishnan following complaints made by R. Viswanathan (Communist Party of India) and P. Angalane (Congress) about the alleged comments the Chief Secretary made against the Council of Ministers.
