Photo expo grabs eyeballs

Over 100 stalls with photography, film equipment on view


Series of workshops in coordination with industry experts to be held

Exhibition will be held till July 6 at People’s Plaza from 10.30 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Hyderabad: It was indeed a shutterbug’s paradise at the ‘Photo Expo and Sign Show 2008’ and ‘Broadcast and Film Expo 2008’ that was held at People’s Plaza, Necklace Road on Friday.

Over 100 stalls showcased photography and film equipment where brands such as Xerox, HP, Nikon, Olympus and Canon displayed their latest products at the fair which was inaugurated by Secretary of All India Photographic Trade and Industry, Chandrakant Shah.

“This is the second largest exhibition and we are expecting over 38,000 visitors. A series of workshops are also being organised in coordination with renowned experts from the industry,” informed V.V. Ramana, Managing Director of Villart Expositions.

U.S.-based photocopy and printing solutions provider, Xerox showcased its latest product, Work Centre 7665. The machine is equipped to make photocopies, print and scan documents and to top it all, it also generates high quality colour copies. Priced at a whopping 9.5 lakh (approximately), the Work Centre 7665 was one of the eye catchers at the expo.

Moreover, taking photography to the next level was Bangalore-based company, Canvera.

The online company offers ‘photobooks’ where in one can compile their pictures and design an album through software for a fixed price. “Our services are offered all over India. One can design the layout of the album online or even send us their photographs. The album will be designed by a team of experts. This is useful mainly for photographers who cover weddings, modelling or even corporate photography,” says CEO of Canvera, Dr. Dhiraj Kacker. For more information visit www.canvera.com.

Other products such as Mini Lab Systems, studio lighting accessories, video graphic equipment, online lab processing units, broadcasting equipment were also on display at the event. The expo will be on till July 6 from 10.30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
