Chitradurga: Revenue Minister G. Karunakar Reddy said the Government identified about 8,000 acres of revenue land being encroached in Bangalore. He told presspersons that of the 8,000 acres of land, documents for 5,000 acres were not clear; the land indeed belongs to the Government. Mr. Reddy said the Government had asked Deputy Commissioners of the State to identify revenue land and encroached land in their respective districts and send the report to the Government. To a question, he said for maintaining transparency in the functioning of revenue departments, he had been conducting surprise visits. “I have suspended three tahsildars in Bangalore on various charges,” he said.
