Farmers take out rally

PUDUKOTTAI: Members of various agriculturists’ associations took out a procession from the Public Office campus to the Thilakar Thidal here on Saturday, as a mark of respect to the farmers who laid down their lives in various agitations.

Raising slogans in support of their demands for implementation of Coleroon Surplus Diversion scheme to Pudukottai district, they marched through the thoroughfares of the town.

Noted organic farming expert G. Nammalwar flagged off the procession, led by N. S. Palanisamy, former MLA.
