B.C. Roy award for Tiruchi doctor

NEW DELHI: Tiruchirapalli doctor M.S. Ashraf received the Dr. B.C. Roy national award for 2006 in socio-medical relief category at a function held here recently. President Pratibha Patil presented the award to Dr. Ashraf, who is also the vice-president of the Tamil Nadu Medical Council.

According to a Council release, he is the first doctor from Tiruchi to win the award. — Special Correspondent
